Web Routine Maintenance Services

Primal Apparatus Workshop can provide routine on-going maintenance services for your web site, email addresses, services, and more. Up to 45 minutes/week of routine tasks is included for a flat monthly fee.

Examples of the tasks included in weekly maintenance are:

  • Weekly (or more frequent) full backup of the website, both files and databases (if applicable).
  • Retention of latest 10 backups geographically distant from the primary web server, if possible with your web hosting provider.
  • Annual (or more frequent) backup viability test (a site restore performed from the latest backup to a different server than production to ensure the backups being taken can be used for recovery, after which the trial restore site is deleted).
  • Software updates to the content management system and/or web hosting platform that are your responsibility and not your web hosting provider’s responsibility (for example, updating the version of PHP or providing dedicated hosting server operating system updates)
  • Minor content and cosmetic changes that you request.
  • Small remediation and/or mutually beneficial Software Development projects at no additional cost*
  • Auxiliary services administration, such as email and WordPress account creation, password resets, and deletions.
  • Minor performance and SEO optimizations and improvements.
  • Simple site restores from backups (to the same domain and hosting provider)
  • Site failure investigation in the event of unexpected failure outside of the regular maintenance window(s).
  • Other small changes as necessary or as requested, and which can be made in about 15 minutes or less in total while working on the site.

This list is not exhaustive — web sites are as varied as the content they serve, and unusual tasks will be estimated before undertaking them. If it is estimated a task will bump the total time for the week over 45 minutes, PAW will contact you before proceeding*, and never charge you for additional weekly maintenance without your consent.
